Springs police are still looking for a driver involved in a serious rollover crash early Saturday morning, who fled the scene after the collision.
Police say a minivan attempted to make a left turn from North Carefree Circle onto Oro Blanco, and was broadsided by an oncoming sedan. The impact of the collision flipped the minivan on its side, blocking the southbound lanes of Oro Blanco. Debris from the accident had the northbound lanes of Oro Blanco shut down.
The driver of the sedan was seriously hurt in the accident and taken to the hospital. That person is expected to recover.
Witnesses saw the occupants of the minivan get out and run off northbound on Oro Blanco. Following a trail of blood to a townhome, police eventually caught up with one of the passengers, a juvenile. He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police say he is not expected to face charges.
Police tell 11 News they know who the driver is, but were not releasing that information at this time. A description of the driver and the vehicle were not available.
Police have not determined if alcohol was a factor in the crash.
11 News will continue to update this story as more information becomes available.
