Colorado Springs Police have identified a suspect accused of causing an accident after an attempted robbery at a pawn shop.

Scott Brown,34, is facing charges of attempted murder, aggravated robbery, attempted aggravated robber, vehicular assault and other traffic violations.

Police say he was treated and released from Memorial Hospital for minor injuries.

The crash shut down Powers and Airport for several hours.

Police say the armed robbery was at America pawn shop near Chelton and Academy.

Anna Martinez and her fiance were in a nearby library and heard gun shots. When they walked out they saw a crime scene around the pawn shop. "Next thing you know we heard sirens and saw the cops coming and we got kind of scared," said Martinez.

Police say Brown left the pawn shop in a gray Hyundai Sonata. He reportedly hit a black Toyota Tacoma which in turn hit a motorcycle. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the motorcycle rider is in serious but stable condition.
