When a woman came to request a signature confirming the delivery of a phone book, Carol Paris agreed to sign. Her suspicion set in later.
"I felt so foolish after I signed it,” Carol said. “I thought 'what if this is not for real?'"
Dex and their contractors told us Friday that contractors who deliver the books to businesses are supposed to get a signature. They’re not supposed to do that at home-based businesses, but this employee must have made a mistake.
Dex says they’ve cleared up the error with the employee who was involved.
Still, Carol wants others to keep an eye out for strangers at the front door and always ask a few questions before signing anything.
"Some of the bells were going off, and I should have been more careful," she said.
