Aid is finally being distributed to typhoon victims in the Philippines. That's according to several relief organizations now in the area.
The U.S.S. George Washington arrived in the Philippines Thursday morning.
Japan announced Thursday morning, they plan to send about 1,000 troops to the devastated areas. Officials say that could become the military's biggest relief effort ever.
The government says more than 2,000,000 people are in need of food, medicine, and water. At least 80,000 homes have been destroyed. The government says that leaves more than 580,000 people homeless.
The current death toll is around 2,300.
