The Baltimore Ravens beat the San Francisco 49ers 34-31 to win the Super Bowl.
It was all Ravens in the first half, and briefly looked like the second half was going to follow the same storyline after Jacoby Jones scored on the second-half kickoff, running 108 yards.
But then came a lengthy power outage, much to the bewilderment of players and spectators alike. When the lights finally roared back on 34 minutes later, with it came new momentum for the 49ers. The 49ers nearly erased the 28-6 deficit they were in pre-outage, getting as close as 31-29.
The 49ers had one more chance to score with just four seconds left in the game, potentially taking the Super Bowl into overtime. But the Ravens held them off, ending the thrilling second half as the Super Bowl champs.
More than 76,000 fans were packed in the Super Dome in New Orleans.
