A second disturbance will bring another round of snow showers to the Front Range this afternoon and early evening. While not as heavy as yesterday, some additional light accumulations over the higher terrain will be possible, including Teller and Northern El Paso Counties. Highs in the 30s and 40s will feel colder when factoring a blustery northwest wind. Click on the 'Weather' tab for more...
Dozens of cars were damaged overnight in the Security-Widefield area - apparently shot by a BB or a pellet gun.
Deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office were called to the area around 4:30 a.m. after a man on Quebec Street noticed that several vehicles--including his own--had a window shot out.
As deputies investigated the neighborhood, they discovered numerous other vehicles on nearby streets had similar damage.
In most cases, the vandalized vehicles were parked on the street, and the side window facing the road had been shot out. Deputies believe the suspects used either a BB or a pellet gun. The majority of the damage took place west of Fountain Mesa Road, south of Fontaine Boulevard, north of Mesa Ridge Parkway and east of Widefield Boulevard.
Some 25 to 30 victims have been identified and deputies say there may be as many as 20 more victims they haven't made contact with.
No suspects have been identified in these cases. The Sheriff’s Office asks anyone with information to call 390-5555.
