An inmate who escaped from the Colorado Correctional Center in Golden has been recaptured.
Kenneth Gomez, 30, escaped on April 17. According to the Department of Corrections, Gomez failed to show up for the formal count that morning. Authorities then realized that a red service vehicle was missing. Gomez, who was serving time at a minimum-level facility, worked as a mechanic at the CCC.
He was arrested Friday evening in Denver.
Gomez was convicted in Jefferson County of burglary and harassment/stalking charges.
