Since marijuana was legalized in Colorado, many people have been confused about where it is allowed, and where it is not.

The Colorado Springs Airport is one place pot in banned. The airport announced the ban Wednesday, eight days after retail sales of recreational marijuana became legal under Colorado law.

That means people won't be allowed to have pot on a plane, in the airport or even in the immediate area surrounding the airport.

The rule goes into effect Friday, but airport officials say marijuana has never been allowed inside terminals or on commercial flights. That is because pot is still illegal under federal law.

Taking pot on a commercial flight could result in drug trafficking charges.

The airport says it will set up amnesty boxes where people can dispose of pot they bring to the airport.

The Denver International Airport is also banning marijuana.
