Deputies with the El Paso County Sheriff's Office are investigating possible explosives dropped off at the county hazardous materials drop-off site near Marksheffel Road and North Carefree Circle.

Police said Thursday night the landlord of a rental property found the items as he was cleaning the house after his renters left the state. Police said he turned in dangerous chemicals and a plastic bag with possible homemade explosives inside.

The El Paso County EOD detonated the plastic bag with a controlled blast.

Currently investigators do not suspect any criminal activity.
