Police Taze Man After He Allegedly Pushes Officer

Police say they had to taze a man after he shoved an officer during a domestic violence investigation.

The incident happened around 12:40 p.m. Sunday.

Officers responded to a home on Ascendant Drive, near North Carefree and Peterson in Colorado Springs, after receiving a 911 call from a woman who said she had been in a physical fight with the suspect. While talking to the victim, police say the suspect came up to the officers and pushed one of them.

Police reportedly tazed the suspect and then took him into custody. He has been identified as Joseph Rivera. He has been charged with misdemeanor domestic violence charges, including harassment and obstruction.
