A warm night out at a Springs bar took a frightening turn after police say a stranger threatened two people with knife.
The victims were chatting at one of Jack Quinn's streetside tables late Sunday night when police say the suspect sat down and began staring down the male victim. When the victim asked what he wanted, the suspect allegedly pulled out a knife, slammed it on the table, then raised it over his head and threatened the two victims.
Police say the suspect didn't hurt either patron, but continued to threaten the victims as he walked away from the table.
Responding officers located the suspect, who they say refused to comply with police commands, forcing them to tase him. After he was subdued, officers say they found a kitchen knife with a 12-inch blade on him.
The suspect has been identified as 29-year-old Billy Ray Rodriguez. He has been charged with two counts of felony menacing.
