One year after a college student was brutally murdered, Springs police are calling on the public to help find her killer.
Angelina Sicola, 20, was found strangled to death in an apartment near Academy and Austin Bluffs in Colorado Springs on May 2 of last year.
Family and friends were shattered by Sicola's death, telling 11 News last year that the 20-year-old UCCS sophomore was a smart, witty and kind person who had a promising life before her.
Sicola's body was found just after 12 p.m. at the Featherstone Apartments on Half Turn Road, apartment number 315. Little else about the crime scene has been released, and police have not indicated if they think she was killed by someone she knew. Though the case has remained active over the last year, police say no suspect has emerged.
"If you have had any contact with her, if you know someone who has had contact with her, if you're suspicious about somebody, please give us a call," said Lt. Adrian Vasquez with the CSPD Homicide Unit.
"Everyday we just wait for an arrest. Everyday we want justice. Everyday I ask Angie, 'Please give the detectives a clue so we can have justice,'" said Angelina's mother, Pam Lively.
If you have any information that you think can help in the investigation, you are asked to call CSPD at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
