Colorado Springs police were forced to search for a driver after he ran away from an accident scene.
The crash happened on I-25 on the North Nevada off-ramp. CSPD said the driver and two other passengers were going southbound when the rear tire blew.
Investigators said the driver hit a patch of dirt, drifted into the off-ramp, spun around, and tipped over. The SUV landed on the passenger side, facing the opposite direction of traffic.
Police said the driver ran away from the scene. At this time, they do not know why the driver fled the area, though officers told 11 News the other passengers believe the driver may have been drinking earlier. Police do believe they know who they are looking for, and once found, he will most likely be ticketed with leaving the scene of an accident.
The driver is not believed to be hurt, and the two other passengers were not injured. No other vehicles were involved.
The I-25 off-ramp was blocked off for about an hour while they investigated and cleaned up the crash.
