Two armed robbers have been quickly apprehended in the early hours of Sunday morning after holding up a convenience store in Pueblo.

Pueblo police say two men walked into the 7-Eleven store at 926 Lake Avenue, near Lake and Summit Avenue, around 1:30 a.m. One of the suspects pulled a gun on the clerk and demanded cash. The two took the cash tray from the drawer along with merchandise and ran out of the store.

Police say they were able to follow a trail of stolen merchandise that led to one of the suspects hiding in a drainage ditch nearby. The second suspect was detained a short time later.

There were no injuries in this robbery. Police have not released the names of the suspects or exactly what charges they will face.
