Police say booze and drug-fueled paranoia led a man to break into a Springs apartment early Saturday morning.

When officers arrived at the Airlan Arms Apartments om La Salle, they found the resident of the apartment holding down the suspect. Police got inside the apartment by climbing through the same window the suspect had broken to get in.

Juan Jose Cordoba-Saldana was arrested on charges of first-degree criminal trespass. According to police, he had been drinking and using cocaine, causing him to think gunmen were trying to hunt him down. Police say he broke into the apartment to hide.

Police say there is no evidence anyone was chasing him.
