A FLASH FLOOD WATCH will go into effect at NOON and last through MIDNIGHT from most of Southern Colorado. Scattered afternoon and evening thunderstorms will be more than capable of producing very heavy rain once again. Burn scars and areas that saw heavy rain yesterday will be under the greatest risk for flash flooding. The 11 Breaking Weather Team will be tracking this threat all day for you.
Colorado Springs police have arrested a man in connection to an early morning stabbing.
Police say two men were fighting in the area of Bijou and Tejon around 7:45 a.m. Sunday when one pulled a knife and stabbed the other man. When officers arrived to the scene they found the victim lying in the alley. He was rushed to the hospital and treated for serious injuries. He is now in stable condition.
Police say the suspect, Vernon Banis, took off on foot, but officers caught him and took him into custody. He is now facing first-degree assault charges.
