Colorado Springs police are investigating a shooting and possible stabbing at a convenience store.
It happened just before 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the 7-Eleven at Fountain and Union.
Preliminary information is that a 52-year-old man was shot in the stomach, but may have managed to slash the suspect in the neck with an unknown weapon.
Police say this started as an attempted robbery. They say a family was selling items in the store's parking lot when at least three suspects came up and demanded money.
There was a fight, resulting in one member of the family being shot, another attacked with a stun gun, and a third hit in the head. Police say the third family member was threatened with a gun, but not injured.
Police say the man who was shot has serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Police dogs were brought to the scene to search for the suspect, but were unable to track them down.
A witness who says he was at the store contacted 11 News and told us there were three robbers, all wearing hoodies and Halloween masks. Police have not confirmed those details or released any further suspect information.
If you have any information that could help police, you are asked to call police at 444-7000 or Crime Stoppers at 634-STOP.
