One Dead, One Injured in Springs Shooting

Colorado Springs police are investigating a shooting on the southwest side of the city that left two injured, one dead.

It happened in the 400 block of East Cheyenne Mountain Boulevard.

Police tell us they got a call about shots fired outside the Shadows Apartments just before 8:30 Thursday evening.

Officers found one man dead at the scene, shot outside the apartments.

A woman was also injured and taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Police are investigating the possibility that the intent of the shooting was a murder-suicide, but they are still investigating.

A friend of the man allegedly involved in the shooting, tells 11 News the man shot his girlfriend and then shot himself. The couple reportedly had several children together.

An autopsy on the man is expected Friday. Stay with KKTV 11 News for the latest information.
