Colorado Springs Fire and Police responded to the scene of a possible illegal drug lab at 4229 East Pikes Peak. That is at the Aspen Townhomes.

They say someone reported fumes and a chemical smell there earlier today, Sunday, June 23.

Crews cleared the scene shortly after 2 p.m. and they say they found no illegal drug labs. They believe the odor was possibly caused by chlorine.

A HAZMAT crew, along with Colorado Springs Police and Fire Departments, responded to the apartment complex.

Fire department officials say that a family of five had to be taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Officials went door to door to check other residents in the area and make sure they aren't suffering from any chemical inhalation. They found no one that was ill.
