A police K-9 tracked a wanted man Friday, who had been on the loose for three days following the assault of a Springs woman.
According to police, 30-year-old Eric Caruthers tied the victim up and assaulted her while holding her captive overnight. After the woman reported the incident Tuesday, police were unable to locate Caruthers.
Around 8 a.m. Friday, police were called to the 1500 block of Fountain Street, where Caruthers was seen running through an alley. Officers set up a perimeter and brought a K-9 team out for assistance.
K-9 Max identified Caruthers' scent and tracked him through the alley. Max finally located Caruthers hiding underneath a truck.
Caruthers was arrested without further incident. Police say he faces charges of second-degree assault, felony menacing and felony false imprisonment.
