After snowfall along the I-25 corridor Sunday be on the lookout for slick road conditions tonight and during your Monday morning commute. Some areas picked up several inches of snow through the day and, while additional snowfall is not expected to continue, snow packed and wet roadways will freeze overnight as temperatures drop into the teens. Bundle up and take it slow as you head out on the roads. Click on the 'Weather' tab for more...
Multiple officers from two Springs sub-stations, as well as a member of the K-9 force, joined forces to catch two alleged car thieves Thursday morning.
Police were first notified at 5:17 a.m. that a 1998 Honda Civic had been stolen from the Camelot Apartments on Airport Road. Not long after, an officer spotted a vehicle resembling the stolen car heading southbound on Meade Avenue. The driver kept going as the officer attempted to stop it.
The suspects ditched the vehicle near the intersection of Wahsatch and Costilla. Police set up a containment area and brought out the K-9 unit. K-9 Cole, accompanied by K-9 Officer Strevett were soon able to find one suspect near a ditch, and the other suspect hiding on the grounds of a nearby business. Both were arrested without incident. Their names have not been released.
Police say the investigation is still ongoing.
