Police say one of their canine crimefighters helped bring another suspect into custody.

According to officers, suspect Travis Rose was trying to escape police on a stolen motorcycle late Thursday night. Around 10:45 p.m. officers found the abandoned bike on the west side of Memorial Park. Police set up containment around the area and called in K-9 Jovi and his handler Officer Keller to search for Rose.

Jovi and Keller searched several yards in the area and reportedly found Rose squatting under a curtain inside a shed. Police say Rose still refused to turn himself in, so Jovi was deployed. Jovi "contacted" Rose on the back, police say, and brought him into police custody.

Rose was taken to Memorial Hospital, then transported to the Criminal Justice Center after he was medically cleared.
