Wednesday will offer more cloud cover and cooler temperatures. By later Wednesday afternoon, rain showers will develop across the Pikes Peak Region and slowly drift southward. Those rain showers will change to snow at higher elevations, and accumulations will be likely. At lower elevations, snow accumulation does not appear to be a big deal. Forecast details can be found under the "Weather" tab.
The Fourth of July is behind us, but many of you are still hearing fireworks go off in your neighborhoods.
Springs police tell 11 News that this isn't unusual--that in the first few days of July 4 they are usually pretty busy with responding to firework reports as people try to use up all those extra fireworks. They do say that while this year has not been as busy as previous years, they are still getting several calls a night.
Police stepped up patrols over the entire holiday weekend to deal with firework calls.
Anyone caught setting off fireworks inside the Colorado Springs city limits face a mandatory court appearance and up to a $500 fine. If you hear fireworks in your area, you are encouraged to call police to report it.
