An Springs officer spotted two men race across Platte, then run behind a shopping center at the corner of Platte and Murray just after 1:30 a.m. Friday.
A moment later, police were notified that an alarm was going off at the Shell gas station on 4270 E. Platte. Responding officers saw that the front door was broken and the store had been rummaged through.
More officers were called to the area of Platte and Murray, and soon found both suspects hiding in a fenced-in office complex on the 3900 block of E. Bijou St. Police say two large bags full of cigarettes and other tobacco products were found a short time later. All items inside were identified as items stolen from the Shell station.
Police arrested Charles Ney, 34, and Anthony Ney, 33, on charges of second-degree burglary, felony criminal mischief and felony theft.
