A babysitter faces more than just child neglect charges after leaving a toddler in the car.
Police say she left the child in the car while she shoplifted.
Denver officers were called to a Home Depot in Stapleton on reports of a woman who had shoplifted about $20 worth of merchandise. She told loss prevention officers that she was babysitting a child who she had left in the parking lot.
Police say the toddler was left in the car for about eight minutes, but was okay.
Authorities will investigate the incident regarding the toddler before determining what sort of child neglect charges she will face. She is also facing shoplifting charges.
