In this 11 Call For Action alert, there is a group taking action to try to prevent kids from dying in hot cars.
The group behind this, KidsandCars.org, ultimately wants to develop technology that alerts parents when a kid is left alone in a car.
They have started a petition online to get the White House involved in their efforts. They have a month to get 100,000 signatures.
The group says there already warnings in your car if you don't buckle your seat belt or if you leave your headlights on, and they want some kind of alert if a child is left behind.
They are asking the White House to give the green light for the Department of Transportation to move forward with funding for the project.
