A FLASH FLOOD WATCH remains in effect for all of southern Colorado throughout our evening and overnight on Tuesday. Storms will continue to be an issue, capable of producing heavy rain with very slow movement. Storms look to mainly favor north and east of areas like Colorado Springs and the Waldo Canyon area, but storms cannot be ruled out still in this area. The 11 Breaking Weather team will be monitoring conditions closely. This Flash Flood Watch remains in effect through 6pm Wednesday, where another day of thunderstorms is possible. a 46-year-old man who was hit by a motorcycle while crossing a highway in Pueblo has died.
The crash happened around 5:00 a.m. Friday at the intersection of Highway 50 and Westroads Ave.
Police said the pedestrian, 46-year-old Henchi Chen, was crossing Hwy 50 from south to north near the intersection with Westroads Ave. This area of the road is unlit and police said Chen was not in a crosswalk.
Chen was struck by a motorcycle, driven by a 56-year-old man, traveling westbound on Hwy 50.
Both men were taken to the hospital. Chen was in critical condition and later died. The driver was in good condition.
Police said speed is not a factor in the crash, and that the driver of the motorcycle is not suspected of drug or alcohol use. Police said Chen is suspected of being under the influence of alcohol.
