A teen-aged girl is recovering after being hit by a car near East Platte Ave. and North Chelton Road in Colorado Springs.
Colorado Springs police say a 15-year-old girl was not in a crosswalk and tried to cross Platte in the middle of the block near Chelton. Cars in two of the eastbound lanes stopped for her, but a driver in a third lane didn't see her and hit her. She broke her femur and pelvis.
The eastbound lanes of Platte were closed from Chelton to the Walmart entrance while emergency crews responded to the accident.
Police say the teen could possibly face a charge of pedestrian in traffic.
The driver will not be cited.
