A man is recovering in the hospital after being hit by a vehicle while crossing a street Tuesday morning.

Police say the 50-year-old was in the crosswalk at Northpark when he was struck by a truck turning from Garden of the Gods Road onto Northpark.

The driver, who remained on scene after the crash, told officers he had a green light when he was turning. Police are still investigating who was at fault, and tell 11 News this could be an instance where "one or both" are cited.

The pedestrian was alert at the scene, and sustained serious, but non-life threatening injuries.

Officers have cleared the area.
