Two suspects are in police custody after allegedly running from officers.
Police say the couple had also been driving in a stolen car.
According to police, officers were called to a 7-Eleven on the 3800 block of E. Pikes Peak Ave. in Colorado Springs, where they were told a couple was causing a disturbance. When officers approached the man and woman at the scene, they allegedly gave fake names.
Police say that after officers informed the man, identified as 29-year-old Douglas Wacker, that he was being arrested on a felony warrant, both suspects ran. Police were able to quickly catch Wacker and detain him.
The woman, identified as 21-year-old Tiffanie Lewis, was able to make it a block before police caught her.
During this time, officers determined that the car the pair had driven to 7-Eleven in had been reported stolen. Police say Wacker was also in possession of stolen items. He has been charged with burglary, motor vehicle theft, identity theft and first-degree criminal trespass. Records indicate he is in custody at the CJC.
Records also show that Lewis is in custody at the CJC on a $250 bond.
