One person was seriously injured in a motorcycle accident that happened Saturday night, June 8, in Pueblo.
According to reports from the Pueblo Police Department, a Honda motorcycle was traveling northbound on Pueblo Blvd near Ivywood Lane when a Dodge Caravan made a left-hand turn in front of the bike. The Caravan was driven by Jerry Lewsadar. The bike, driven by Tyler Wittrup, attempted to avoid the collision by braking - which resulted in the motorcycle lying down.
When the motorcycle went down, the female passenger - Ariel Billings - was thrown from the bike and suffered serious head injuries.
Neither the driver nor the passenger on the bike were wearing helmets. Both Billings and Wittrup were transported to the hospital. Billings was listed in serious condition and Wittrup received only minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing but police say they do not suspect speed, alcohol or drugs in the crash.
