A Colorado Springs firefighter received minor injuries while fighting three-alarm fire at a Colorado Springs church.
There is no word on the firefighter's condition or nature of the injury.
The fire broke out around 4 a.m. at the Restoring Hope Church at 400 W. Pikes Peak Ave., which was planning to hold its grand opening Sunday.
Sixty firefighters were called to work on this fire. It took crews roughly two hours to get the fire under control. Fire investigators will be looking at the basement of the church as a possible starting point for this fire.
Firefighters had to rescue one man from the building who lives in the basement. The man was sent to the hospital for evaluation, but firefighters say he should be alright.
The cause and origin of the fire is not known at this time. There's no word on what the church plans to do concerning its grand opening.
