A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Thursday's press conference brought news that hundreds more homes have been destroyed.
With the news, local officials are working to get the word out about the Black Forest Fire Disaster Assistance Center.
It will be at the El Paso County Citizens Service Center Building.
El Paso County Commissioner, Sallie Clark, describes it as a one stop shop for information for all Black Forest Fire evacuees and survivors. It's located at 1675 West Garden Of The Gods Road.
Local resources will be there daily from 8 a.m. - 6 p.m.
Several of the agencies there include: Care and Share, The Red Cross, Aspen Point, Insurance Companies, and more.
