Locally heavy rain will remain possible overnight, with any showers and storms. Areas likely to see additional heavy rain will likely be east of I-25 and along HWY 50 from Canon City eastward. A woman allegedly driving a stolen car parked at a sheriff's office substation to ask for directions, quickly leading to her arrest.
According to the Fremont County Sheriff's Office, Sgt. Trace Hall pulled up next to the BMW the suspect was in, at which time the suspect got out and asked Hall for directions to an address in the Copper Gulch area.
Just minutes after the suspect drove off, Hall was notified that the BMW was stolen from Colorado Springs on December 2. Hall was quickly able to track the vehicle down on CR 1A and detained all four people inside.
Driver Brandi Jones, 43, was booked into the Fremont County Detention Center on charges of aggravated motor vehicle theft and possession of a controlled substance. The three passengers were released without charges.
