The governor has appointed a new judge for the Pueblo County Court. David Lobato will replace the retiring Judge Ernest Ruybalid.
Lobato, a Pueblo resident, was most recently the Deputy State Public Defender in the Pueblo Regional Office. He was working exclusively in the area of criminal defense for misdemeanor, traffic and felony cases.
Lobato’s resume also includes time as an ordained Roman Catholic Priest. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the College of Santa Fe and a J.D. from the University of Colorado Law School.
His appointment is effective immediately.
