An agreement has been made to purchase land for a National Veterans Cemetery in Southern Colorado. The Department of Veterans Affairs announced the deal Wednesday without saying the specific location of the cemetery.

In 2009, Senators Michael Bennet and Mark Udall introduced a bill to create a cemetery in El Paso County. The next year, Representative John Salazar joined the push by betting with the secretary of Veterans Affairs to discuss the idea.

Shortly after, the President's fiscal year 2011 budget included language for a cemetery.

We'll let you know when we find out the exact location.
