Wednesday, many people paused to remember victims who lost their lives to violence.
Families of homicide victims gathered in Colorado Springs for a National Day of Remembrance. The group Mothers of Murdered Youth (MOMY) held a memorial at the Penrose Library.
They were there to share stories, provide support and raise awareness.
"Some days you feel like, 'Gosh, is it just me who is feeling this pain and this heartache in this trying time that we're having to go through?' and you see other moms who are going through the same thing," said Carol Bueno, mother of homicide victim Joshua Bueno.
A National Day of Remembrance for Homicide Victims has been held since 2007.
