State Patrol is continuing to investigate a fatal collision involving a motorcycle Monday night in Fountain.
The crash happened at 10:40 p.m. at the "T" intersection of Fontaine and Fountain Mesa.
According to State Patrol, the motorcycle, which was headed east on Fontaine, was driving straight through the intersection when a Hyundai Accent suddenly turned off of Fountain Mesa and got in front of it. The motorcycle collided with the car and was severely injured on impact. He survived long enough to be transported to the hospital, but died shortly after arrival.
Authorities say the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The motorcyclist has been identified as Edward Weber, 37, of Colorado Springs. Weber reportedly worked at Schriever Air Force Base.
The driver of the Hyundai was identified as 20-year-old Antwan Bolton, also of Colorado Springs.
At this time, failing to yield the right-of-way when turning left is considered a factor in the crash, but any potential charges will not be filed until the investigation is completed.
