Protesters took to the streets in 300 cities, including Denver and Colorado Springs, Saturday to protest the use of genetically modified organisms in food.

The main target of the protest was the company Monsanto.

Protesters say Monsanto's use of GMO harms the environment and causes health problems. The U.S. government says the company's products are safe.

Monsanto describes itself as a "sustainable agriculture company."
