A quiet morning shattered when a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a Springs home Thursday.

Toni Garrison tells 11 News she was in her bedroom between 3 and 4 a.m. when her son and nephew ran in and told her they heard a jar thrown at their garage.

Garrison ran outside and saw flames covering a portion of garage. She filled a pitcher with water and threw it at the fire to get it out. There was no damage to the home other than paint damage on the garage.

The jar reportedly contained gasoline and paper, which had been lit before the suspects threw it at the garage. Police do not have any suspect information at this time, but Garrison believes it was a group of kids. She says her nephew looked out the window after hearing the jar hit the garage and saw several kids running away.

Authorities say whoever did it could face felony charges of first-degree arson.

The incident happened on Teardrop Place, which is on the northeast side of the Springs near Inspiration Drive and South Carefree.
