A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. The minimum wage rate is going up in several states starting Tuesday.
According to the non-profit advocacy group National Employment Law Project, workers in Colorado and nine other states can expect a ten to fifteen cent raise in the new year.
This change will impact 855,000 workers. States are required to pay at least the same rate as federal minimum wage, which has been set at $7.25 an hour since 2009.
In Colorado, the current minimum wage pay rate is $7.64 an hour.
