The state health department is holding a marijuana town hall meeting Friday.

They're hoping to get feedback about closing a legal loophole for medical marijuana caregivers.

Right now, caregivers are state-sanctioned marijuana growers, who raise pot for people on the medical marijuana registry. Typically, caregivers have fewer than 30 plants. However, some of these caregivers have waivers that let them grown hundreds of pot plants without going through background checks. These are required for commercial growers.

Friday's meeting is an effort to come up with new legislation. The proposed bill hasn't been introduced, but caregivers are skeptical and say they'll likely oppose the new requirements.

The town hall meeting starts Friday afternoon at the Colorado capitol.
