A man is expected to recover after being shot in the back at a party.

Police say it started when the party got out of control and several people were asked to leave.

A short time later a man reportedly walked up to the house from around the corner and fired two shots at someone standing in front of the house.

The victim was shot in the back, but was able to get to the hospital. Police say his injuries are not life-threatening.

The suspect got away, but police say witnesses at the house gave them a description. Police have not released it.

The incident happened just before 1:20 a.m. Sunday on the 2300 block of North Nevada Ave. in Colorado Springs.
