A shot was fired Saturday morning as a man chased two men he saw breaking into vehicles outside a sports bar near the Citadel Mall.

The two suspects had broken into a few vehicles in the parking lot of Kelly O’Brian’s Sports Bar at 239 N. Academy Boulevard around 2 a.m. Police say a man saw the pair breaking into a car and started to chase them. As the two suspects ran away, one of the suspects fired a shot in the air.

Police don’t know exactly how many vehicles the two had gotten into before they were stopped, but broken glass was found north of the sports bar in the Discount Tire parking lot.

The two suspects had taken items from one of the cars, but that property was recovered by the man who chased them down.

The two suspects were described as Hispanic or black men, 5-foot-8 to 6 feet tall with average builds. They were both wearing dark-colored hoodies and black pants. They were last seen running towards the Target store to the south of the sports bar.

No one was hurt in the altercation. If you know anything about these break-ins, call police at 719-444-7000.
