A system producing heavy snow in the central mountains arrives in SE Colorado overnight Sunday into Monday bringing moisture, windy conditions and colder temperatures. Snow showers will be possible across the I-25 corridor to start the day. This system will produce bands of snow through the day Monday. Areas under these bands will see periods of heavy snowfall which, with windy conditions, could create travel difficulties. Police are searching for the suspect in an armed robbery Friday night.
The incident happened at Big Lots on 5085 N. Academy in Colorado Springs just before 8:20 p.m.
Police say the suspect walked into the store and up to a register, where he flashed a handgun and demanded money. After receiving an unknown amount of cash, he left the area.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s, 5-foot-11 and thin with dirty-blond hair. He was dressed in a black jacket and blue jeans, and wearing a black baseball cap. No suspect vehicle was seen.
