Man Robbed At Gunpoint In Apartment Parking Lot

Police are searching for two men they say robbed a man at gun point in a Colorado Springs apartment parking lot.

Investigators said the victim had just parked his car in an apartment parking lot when he was approached by two men. They ordered him to lie down on the ground before robbing him. Police said one of the suspects was armed with a semi-automatic handgun, and they’re still on the loose.

Investigators searched the area with K-9 units- including the Walgreens next door. Police told us the suspects stole two blue backpacks from the back of the victim’s SUV.

Investigators said one of the suspects took off running toward the northwest, the other possibly ran into the timbers apartment complex.

The suspect with the gun is described as a black man about 20-25 years old, about 6 feet tall with a thin build, and last seen wearing a black hoodie and dark colored jeans. There’s not much of a description for the second suspect and its unknown if that man was armed.

We talked to one woman who lives in the area who says she’s not surprised to hear this happened.

“This area is deteriorating faster than you can think. I've been here for 13 years and it's getting worse,” the Springs resident told us.

Investigators said the victim in this incident was not injured. If you have any information about this crime or know who the suspects may be, you’re asked to call Crimestoppers 634-STOP.
