Rain & snow showers are expected to continue, mainly along the I-25 corridor, throughout the evening and overnight hours. A man says he was attacked and robbed outside his home as he was bringing his garbage can in from the curb.
The victim told police that a man walked up to him and demanded his property. When the victim refused, the suspect reportedly took out a gun.
The victim says he still refused to hand anything over, and that's when the suspect started assaulting him.
The victim fought back, but the suspect still managed to get away with the contents of his wallet. Police say the victim was not seriously hurt.
A police dog could not track down the suspect.
The suspect is described as a black man, about 5-foot-9 with a thin build. He was wearing new-looking bright white shoes, a black hoodie, black beanie and a black bandana across his face.
The incident happened on Kodiak Drive near Monterey Road in Colorado Springs around 9:40 p.m. Saturday. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
