Company Makes Large Donation To Volunteer Fire Departments

A special ceremony took place to honor our local firefighters who worked so hard battling devastating wildfires.

A check for $255,000 was presented to 12 local volunteer fire departments on Wednesday.

The money was donated by Honeywell employees worldwide and was matched by the company.

Six volunteer departments will receive brand new personal protection equipment and another six will receive cash donations.

The fire departments included in the donation are:

- Cascade
- Crystal Park
- Palmer Lake
- Simla
- Ellicott
- Calhan
- Stratmoor Hills
- Divide
- El Paso County Sheriff Wildland Fire
- Green Mountain Falls
- Manitou Springs
- Black Forest
