Fire crews are investigating what caused a fire at a Colorado Springs office building early Friday morning.
The fire destroyed the second floor of the building, leaving one local non-profit scrambling to find a safe place for their members.
Inside Out Youth Services has been serving the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community for the last 23 years in Colorado Springs and just recently moved into their new location at 1409 Potter Drive.
Their center was a complete loss after the fire.
Fortunately no one was inside the building around 3:00 a.m. on Friday when the fire broke out, but now many local teens are without a place to go to after school now that the center burnt down.
It's a tough loss that organizers say is impacting hundreds of their members.
"The youth really depend on this place. It's a safe place for them. Inside Out, for some of them, it's all they have," said Gina Fuquea with Inside Out.
The group had an open house planned for Friday night to celebrate the new location. That has been cancelled as organizers turn their focus towards supporting their members before finding an alternative location.
Fire crews were at the scene Friday night to make sure the building is completely safe before investigators can enter and try to determine what the cause of the fire was.
They tell 11 News that the investigation could take several days.
