The Pikes Peak Region continues to see both light rain and snow, even a mix in some places so far in the early afternoon hours. Eventually this afternoon, the rain will change all into snow for the Pikes Peak region, while areas to the south and east start picking up on rain. By the overnight hours, all will be in the snow category. This looks to end by the early morning hours on Sunday. A woman is accused of driving recklessly in a parking lot before running into a building.
The driver, 31-year-old Summer Haugeto, reportedly hit a trailer damaging a 2013 Harley Davidson motorcycle that was on it before crashing into the Days Inn.
Colorado Springs police say an officer was conducting an unrelated traffic stop when he was the accident happen.
Police told our crew at the scene that Haugeto took off on foot, but was found a short time later. She was taken to the hospital to be treated for her injuries.
Haugeto is being charged with a DUI and other traffic violations.
The accident happened at the Days Inn on the 2400 block of East Pikes Peak Ave. at 1:12 a.m. July 27.
